North Atlantic Brisling Sardine

Our North Atlantic brisling sardines are from the specie sprattus sprattus , considered by epicures globally as a premium quality sardine due to their high oil, nutritional content and small size. Typically caught off the West Coast of Scotland during the prime winter catching months when quality and nutritional values are at optimal levels.

Sardines are said to have been named after the island of Sardinia, where they were found in abundance and were one of the first fish packed in cans for commercial sale
